Clinical trials
Take part in research
Cerulea Clinical Trials is a leader in ophthalmic clinical trials. Our world-leading knowledge and expertise bring new treatments to more people.
We conduct clinical studies for eye conditions including diabetic eye disease, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, uveitis and retinal diseases, as well as rare eye diseases.
Clinical trials play a critical role in helping develop new treatments for eye disease, and ensuring they are safe, effective and make a difference for patients.
These trials can lead to breakthroughs in medical understanding, and better ways to help people keep their sight.
Our team is made up of eye doctors, study coordinators, scientists and nurses. We are highly experienced, passionate about research, and devoted to participant care.
We collaborate with research organisations, universities, pharmaceutical companies and biotech enterprises from around the world.
We are based in Melbourne, and located on Level 7 of the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

For participants
We need volunteers for our clinical trials, now and in the future. Most people who volunteer have an eye disease or disorder, or are likely to develop one.
Clinical trials vary from short ‘pilot’ or exploratory studies, through to phase I, II, III and IV trials. Trials can take place over a few months, or several years. Each phase of a clinical trial has different goals and methods.
If you’re interested in taking part in clinical trials at Cerulea, please read through the following information to understand the benefits and risks of participation.
When you register your interest, your details will be assessed for suitability and we will contact you if there is an opportunity that is a good match.
