Cerulea Clinical Trials

Clinical trials

For clinicians

We welcome healthcare practitioners to connect with Cerulea by subscribing to CeruleaCONNECT to stay up to date on recruiting clinical trials, or by referring interested patients who may be suitable for a clinical trial at Cerulea and the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA).

Join CeruleaCONNECT

CeruleaCONNECT is a collaborative network for clinical trials, which brings together healthcare practitioners in the ophthalmology, optometry, general practice and other medical and allied health sectors with our clinical trial sites into one connected community.

As a referrer member, you’ll receive:

  • Up-to-date information on upcoming and recruiting ophthalmic clinical trials, so you can keep your patients informed and enable early access to cutting-edge interventions only available via clinical trial participation
  • Access to our study coordinators and leading doctors to receive advice about clinical trial suitability of your patients
  • Invitations to Cerulea events.

We are working to make it easier for you to refer your patients for consideration for clinical trials and keep you at the forefront of ophthalmology clinical trials available in Melbourne.

We invite you to join our growing network and help shape the future of eye care through clinical trials by clicking the button below.

How to refer a patient

We welcome healthcare practitioners to refer interested patients who may be suitable for a clinical trial at Cerulea and CERA.

We accept referrals via:

If referring via our website, you will have the option to either enter this information into a registration form or upload a referral for clinical trials.

When we receive your referral, we review it to determine whether there is a suitable trial currently available. We then contact your patient to discuss their options for clinical trial participation.

If there is no suitable clinical trial at that time, your patient will be invited to join our participant registry, and we will contact them when a potential clinical trial becomes available.

We will notify you when your patient enrolls into a clinical trial.

In the patient referral, please include:

  • Diagnosis
  • Best corrected visual acuity
  • Refraction
  • IOP
  • Past ocular history
  • Relevant clinical images and visual fields
  • Other significant medical conditions.

If you have any general enquiries, please email the team: referral@cerulea.org.au
